Caterina Barontini from Italy is playing Toccata in A major from Pietro Domenico Paradisi. This is a famous piece from the late Baroque epoque.
Pietro Domenico Paradisi was one of the Italian composers and harpsichordists who brought to the passage between Baroque and Classicism. He is celebrated above all for his twelve sonatas for harpsichord (London, 1754). This Toccata, taken from the Sonata VI in A Major, is one of the most popular pieces for keyboard dating back to the 18th Century, known also in a harp version. The atmosphere of this music is soothing, compelling and rewarding.
From April to June 2018, Caterina Barontini recorded 100 pieces composed by the authors that she loves most: Galuppi, Cimarosa, Paradisi, Bach, Handel, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Grieg, Brahms, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Ravel, Prokofiev, Satie, De Falla, Bartók and Yiruma.
